Welcome to Sharing Faith in Schools
Updated: Jan 23, 2020
We are really looking forward to working with you, walking alongside you and supporting to bring your vision for schools work into reality in your local schools.
We will be using this blog to update you with tasks, dates of training, Skype Meet Ups, upload and share resources, give general notices and organise group work. You will be using this to submit your assignments, including reflections on your own project as well as commenting on other trainees' posts.
We have already met with or spoken to most of you on the phone, and we are in the process of assigning trainees to a mentor (either Rich or Alice).
Please film and send us a 1 minute video of yourself to introduce yourself to your fellow trainees and your mentor. This should include:
1. Who are you - not just your job role please.
2. Share your vision or what God has put on your heart about working with children and young people.
3. Describe your local context (ministry, who you are hoping to reach, what support you have, where is your church?)
4. Who has been the biggest influence on you as a young person - other than the Lord - and why?
Alice and I have shot one ourselves below so you get the idea and we would like you to upload your task onto the blog so you get to know how it works.
If you are reading this will have by now found your way into the members area, well done.
Please also complete the other prep tasks, including: the Agreement Form, the initial Skype meeting with SFIS and your Advocate,
and the initial Self Evaluation.
It is really important that these are done - for you to get the most out of this SFIS opportunity and for our continued funding. Also, to ensure your Advocate can support you spiritually and feed into the mentoring process as needed.
